Delivery

She opened her Swiggy app and ordered. It said delivery in thirty minutes. Meera was already drooling. Assortment of Kebabs, biriyani, dal makhani, parota, desserts. All this for Rs 500 with a discount.

Murugesh got a ping. He had a delivery to make. No time for rest. His chitranna was already cold. He kicked the bike and proceeded to collect the packet. She said thank you and gave him a decent tip.

Murugesh parked the bike under the shade of a tree and opened his food packet. That was when the rain started.

A few days later when Meera was at the university library on a Friday afternoon she was surprised to see Murugesh immersed in some serious reading. There was something about Murugesg that she had found charming when he had to come to deliver. She went up to him and said Hi.

Murugesh was taken aback and looked up to see an attractive lass whom he remembered as Meera, his deliver on that rainy day. He fumbled a hi to her too. Without asking he said he is doing his part time law course along with working as a delivery guy.

Meera was unexpectedly impressed. She felt like talking to him further. She said coffee is good in the Darshini, would he care for one? Murugesh betraying his eagerness said yes. Over a cup of coffee they exchanged each other’s story of how they have come up to wherever they had reached.

Meera had promised Murugesh to explore a placement opportunity at a law firm run by her father's friend. The firm Murugesh had heard of it had a good reputation. Murugesh was thinking further of a job as his bachelor course was nearing its end. He was glad to receive a call from Meera that the senior lawyer Anand would be happy to meet with Murugesh. Meera had personally called him and wished him best on the day of his interview at the law firm.

Murugesh thought to himself that the delivery he had cursed had turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When he stepped up at the law firm he had both the job and Meera in mind. The Swiggy guy entered the law firm with a swagger.
